INSTANT SCAPES – Scenari Instantanei
Instant Scapes is almost an anthropological observation of our daily lives, our social rituals, the environments in which we move, through a series of short 30-second videos, excluding titles, cut in 4:5, which is the size of a mobile phone screen and the maximum duration that the human-social can (perhaps) bear today.
The project, launched on 3 January 2022, has run for a year, until 30 December, with three publications a week on Instagram (4:5), Facebook and once a month on YouTube (16:9) as the collection of the month. Conceived as paintings or tableaux vivants Instant Scapes also represents a study of possible music for possible situations; electronic pieces alternate with acoustic actions and instrumental miniatures crossing genres and artistic disciplines.
In some cases the rhythm of the video automatically suggests musical development, through the use of mickey-mousing techniques; in others the soundtrack sssumes more descriptive traits; in still others the sound becomes metaphor and combines or contrasts with the video content with irony, detachment, abstraction.
Given the modular nature of the project, the work is also available in shorter versions.
