The Favoiardi people are a small tribe, made up of just four members — not by choice, but because… well… the lack of a proper budget drove everyone else away.
Still, our people are ancient, dating back — believe it or not — at least 2–3 weeks ago, as our writings clearly attest. Meanwhile, other populations born around the same time as ours, mostly devoted to the art of improvisation, quickly went extinct — practically the very instant they were born.
The Favoiardi Songs are a genuine expression of our tradition. Scored for two male voices, trombone, toy piano, and banjo, they accompany a series of dances specially designed to avoid boring the unfortunate audience too much.

1. The first is titled Scianbadabadalla and it’s the Song of Welcome; when one of us goes to visit another, they knock on the door and say “Sciabadabadalla,” and the other replies, “Sciabadabadalla.”

2. The People of the Favoiardi are no strangers to the pain caused by taxes, which is why they invented a true anthem — or rather… an “intherm” — titled Ohi ohi ohi ahi ahi ahi.

3. As in all folk traditions, there is a love song; ours is titled Grugn. It’s a true courtship song sung by three males to the only female — who, however, generally doesn’t give a damn. So, it’s a very short song.

4. Then there is the Favoiard Song of Offering, the kind of song you sing when exchanging gifts, like during the Feast of Saint Cucumber or the Favoiard Tiramisu Festival. It’s called Beccatiquè, and it sounds more or less like this.

5. There is also the Favoiard hunting song, very liberating, titled Dromoquagl, where people shoot wildly, just for fun.

6. A hunting song wouldn’t be complete without a fishing song. Here it is: Glugglù.

7. Ah ah ah. And that’s the Song of Joy. As you can imagine, the Favoiard People are very cheerful — three men and a woman who couldn’t care less about them — ah ah ah
ah ah ah.
