C’ERA UNA VOLTA is a micro-opera built on the earlier work ES WAR EINMAL commissioned by the radio programme Wurfsendung on Deutschlandfunk Kultur in 2008.

It is a series of famous fairy tales which have been revisited and shifted from their usual context.

Thus Cinderella, once married, stops cleaning the stepsisters’ house and starts washing the Prince’s castle, the Fisherman prefers to eat the Golden Fish, the the Pied Piper leads the rats to a global war…

In this new version, the carrier language is Italian and some of the music has been changed, and above all, the fairy tales are presented seamlessly as a single story.
